Can you rekey a mailbox instead of replacing the whole thing?

Usually, yes. If you own the box, a private post at the end of your drive or a wall unit on the house, we can rekey the existing lock so the lost or surrendered key no longer works, which is cheaper than a full replacement. We only swap the cylinder outright when the lock is corroded, jammed, or someone already pried at it. For a USPS cluster box, your individual compartment lock can be changed, but the box body itself isn't ours to alter.

What are the rules for those cluster boxes at the curb?
