Can you program any fob?

Most of them, yes. Standard remotes and push-start smart keys for the Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, Fords, and Hyundais we see all over the Valley are routine. A handful of makes lock their fobs behind dealer-only systems, and we'll tell you honestly on the phone before we drive out to North Hollywood so you're not paying for a trip that ends at 'call the dealer.'

Are there dealer-only models you can't do?

A few. Some newer German luxury brands and certain high-security push-start systems need the dealer's proprietary equipment, and no independent locksmith can honestly get around that. Rather than guess, give us the year, make, and model when you call (818) 398-9391 and we'll confirm whether it's something we can pair on site or a dealer job.

How do I know if it's the battery or the programming?

It's the first thing we check. If the fob still won't work after a fresh battery, or it works up close but not from across the lot, that points to a pairing or antenna issue rather than power. If it died all at once and a new coin cell brings it back, you never needed programming in the first place.

How long does pairing take?

For common Valley cars, usually well under an hour from the time we reach you. Cutting a fresh blank adds a few minutes, and some newer push-start models force a built-in security wait before they'll accept a new fob, which can stretch things out. We'll give you a realistic window for your specific car when you call, not a one-size-fits-all number.
